TASKA Prosthetics was founded by engineer Mat Jury, who began developing the device in his Wellington garage in 2010 after a mountain-biking accident gave him insight into upper-limb difference. The company began commercial sales in 2017 and is headquartered in Christchurch, New Zealand. TASKA is best known for producing the world's first waterproof multi-articulating prosthetic hand. It became part of the Eqwal Group in 2024. (Note: founding-year sources vary — development began in 2010, with commercial sales from 2017.)
